WHY DTF FOR BUSINESS MERCH

Branded apparel that behaves like a real product

Any logo, any number of colors Gradients, photos, thin script, a full-color mascot — DTF prints it all in one pass with a white underbase, so it looks the same on a black hoodie as on a white tee. Screen printing charges per color; we don't. Export a PNG with a transparent background at 300 DPI and you're set.
Works across your whole lineup Cotton tees, poly performance shirts, fleece hoodies, canvas totes, aprons and caps all take the same transfer — only the press setting changes. One sheet of logos can outfit the counter staff, the delivery van crew and the merch shelf. Best fabrics for DTF →
Machine washable — tested 100+ washes Staff shirts get washed constantly. Our transfers are rated past 100 wash cycles with a soft, flexible hand, so the logo on a six-month-old uniform still looks like day one. How the rating works →

MERCH MATH FOR SMALL TEAMS

Keep a drawer of transfers, press on demand

The expensive part of merch was never the shirt — it was committing to 48 of them before you knew what would sell. With transfers you flip that around. Order your logo at a few sizes on one gang sheet, keep the sheet in a drawer, and press a shirt when a new hire starts, when a customer asks, or when the market booth runs low. Blanks are priced near cost here, and the transfer itself is a few dollars' worth of sheet space.

A standard 22-inch-wide gang sheet comfortably holds the same logo at several working sizes: a left-chest version around 3–4 inches, a full-front at 10–12 inches, a sleeve hit at 2.5–3 inches and a cap-sized version. That single order covers staff tees, a hoodie drop and a handful of hats without three separate print jobs.

  • Left chest + full back on one sheetMix sizes freely — the builder snaps them together and tells you how much sheet you're using.
  • Press in minutes, not weeksNo proofs to approve, no screen burns. Your transfer arrives ready; a 15-second press finishes the shirt.
  • Blanks priced near costGildan, Bella+Canvas, Comfort Colors and Next Level in the same checkout, shipped separately from our apparel warehouse.

GOOD TO KNOW

Small business merch FAQ

What are Bear DTF transfers?

DTF (direct-to-film) transfers are your designs printed onto a film with a white underbase and a heat-activated adhesive. You press the film onto a garment, peel it away, and the print stays. No screens, no vinyl weeding, no color limits — and no minimum order.

Do I need a heat press?

A heat press gives the most consistent results: 290–320°F, 8–15 seconds, medium pressure, hot peel. For small designs an EasyPress works well. A household iron can work on small pieces if you use a hard, flat surface, full body weight and the full time — but results vary more than with a press. Settings by fabric are in our press guide.

Which fabrics and colors can I press on?

Cotton, polyester, cotton/poly blends, fleece, canvas, denim and more — light or dark, because every transfer is printed with a white underbase. Polyester and spandex use a lower temperature; the press guide lists each setting. See the best fabrics for DTF.

Are the transfers safe for kids' clothing?

Our films and inks are documented on the Materials & Certifications page, and the finished print is soft and flexible rather than a thick plastic layer. As with any printed garment, wash before first wear.

I've never done this before — is it hard?

No. Pre-press the garment for a few seconds, lay the transfer print-side up, press, peel the film while it's hot, and you're done. Most first-timers get it right on the first shirt. If you'd like to practice first, the sample pack is the cheapest way to try it.

What if part of the design doesn't stick?

Lay the film back down (or a cover sheet over the print) and press again for 5–10 seconds with firm pressure. Make sure you are at the hotter end of the range for cotton (310–320°F) and that the platen is pressing evenly — thick seams can hold it up. If a transfer arrives defective, our guarantee covers a free reprint.

Can I wash it like a normal shirt?

Yes. Turn the garment inside out, wash cold or warm, tumble dry low or hang dry, and skip bleach and dry cleaning. Our transfers are rated for 100+ washes — the method is explained on the wash durability page.

How does shipping work?

Transfer orders ship UPS with tracking: flat $19.90, free on transfer orders $99+, with 1–3 business days in transit. Blank apparel ships separately from our apparel warehouse, and its shipping is calculated at checkout. Full details are in the Shipping Policy.

Can I put my logo on hats, totes and aprons, not just shirts?

Yes. The same transfer presses onto caps, canvas totes, aprons, hoodies and polos — only the temperature and time change by material. Caps and thick seams press best with a cap press or a small EasyPress; our hats, hoodies and sleeves guide walks through each one.

I sell shirts — is there a better price for volume?

Gang sheets are the volume price: you pay for sheet space, so the more designs you fit, the less each one costs. Larger sheets and rolls are listed on the full price list, and every order earns Bear Cash toward the next one.
