WHY DTF FOR TEAM APPAREL

Built for jerseys, warm-ups and the stands

Polyester-safe, no dye migration Most jerseys are 100% polyester, which bleeds under high heat. DTF presses at a lower temperature than sublimation-style methods and the white underbase keeps your colors clean on red, royal and black. Pressing on polyester →
Every size on one sheet Youth small to adult 2XL on the same roster? Put the crest on the sheet at two or three widths, back numbers at youth and adult heights, and press the right one on each jersey. One order, no size minimums per design.
Tested 100+ washes Team gear is washed after every practice. Our transfers are rated past 100 wash cycles and stay flexible, so numbers don't crack at the fold. How we test →

NAMES, NUMBERS & THE WHOLE ROSTER

One gang sheet, the entire team

A team order is really three small orders: the crest for the chest, a back number for every player, and a name above it. On a gang sheet they all live together. Open the Gang Sheet Builder, add the logo, then use the Names & Numbers tool to type the roster — the builder lays each name and number out at the height you choose, and you pay for sheet space rather than per name.

Starting points that most leagues use: adult back numbers 8–10 inches tall, youth 6–8 inches, a chest number around 3–4 inches and names about 2 inches tall. Keep each one- or two-digit number grouped so it presses as a single piece, and create a separate youth size run if your roster spans ages. Late sign-up? Add one more transfer at any time — no minimum, no re-setup.

  • Left-chest crest + sleeve patchA 3–4 in crest on the chest and a 2.5–3 in sleeve version fit on the same sheet as the numbers.
  • Fan tees and booster hoodiesReuse the same crest at 10–12 in full-front for parents and the stands — cotton fleece presses at 300–320°F.
  • Coaches' polosLeft-chest logo at 3–4 in, pressed on a performance polo in a few seconds.
ElementStarting sizeNotes
Adult back number 8–10 in tall Group each number as one piece
Youth back number 6–8 in tall Separate youth run
Chest number 3–4 in tall Opposite the crest
Player name about 2 in tall Arched or straight, above the number
Left-chest crest 3–4 in wide 7–9 in down from the shoulder seam

From our team uniforms guide — measure a jersey in each size before you finalize.

GOOD TO KNOW

Team shirts FAQ

What are Bear DTF transfers?

DTF (direct-to-film) transfers are your designs printed onto a film with a white underbase and a heat-activated adhesive. You press the film onto a garment, peel it away, and the print stays. No screens, no vinyl weeding, no color limits — and no minimum order.

Do I need a heat press?

A heat press gives the most consistent results: 290–320°F, 8–15 seconds, medium pressure, hot peel. For small designs an EasyPress works well. A household iron can work on small pieces if you use a hard, flat surface, full body weight and the full time — but results vary more than with a press. Settings by fabric are in our press guide.

Which fabrics and colors can I press on?

Cotton, polyester, cotton/poly blends, fleece, canvas, denim and more — light or dark, because every transfer is printed with a white underbase. Polyester and spandex use a lower temperature; the press guide lists each setting. See the best fabrics for DTF.

Are the transfers safe for kids' clothing?

Our films and inks are documented on the Materials & Certifications page, and the finished print is soft and flexible rather than a thick plastic layer. As with any printed garment, wash before first wear.

I've never done this before — is it hard?

No. Pre-press the garment for a few seconds, lay the transfer print-side up, press, peel the film while it's hot, and you're done. Most first-timers get it right on the first shirt. If you'd like to practice first, the sample pack is the cheapest way to try it.

What if part of the design doesn't stick?

Lay the film back down (or a cover sheet over the print) and press again for 5–10 seconds with firm pressure. Make sure you are at the hotter end of the range for cotton (310–320°F) and that the platen is pressing evenly — thick seams can hold it up. If a transfer arrives defective, our guarantee covers a free reprint.

Can I wash it like a normal shirt?

Yes. Turn the garment inside out, wash cold or warm, tumble dry low or hang dry, and skip bleach and dry cleaning. Our transfers are rated for 100+ washes — the method is explained on the wash durability page.

How does shipping work?

Transfer orders ship UPS with tracking: flat $19.90, free on transfer orders $99+, with 1–3 business days in transit. Blank apparel ships separately from our apparel warehouse, and its shipping is calculated at checkout. Full details are in the Shipping Policy.

Can you press DTF on 100% polyester jerseys?

Yes — it's one of the best uses for DTF. Press at the lower end of the range (285–300°F, 10–12 seconds), peel hot, and the white underbase blocks the jersey dye from bleeding into your colors. Our polyester guide covers the details, including a cover sheet for sublimated fabrics.

How do I order names and numbers for a roster?

Open the Gang Sheet Builder, add your crest, then use the Names & Numbers tool to enter each player's name and number and choose the height. Everything lands on one sheet and is priced by sheet space, not per name. Our team uniforms guide shows a full example.

Ready to suit up the team?

Crest, names and numbers on one sheet — pressed before the first whistle.
