Materials & Certifications

Every Bear transfer is built from three things: film, adhesive powder and ink. This page explains what we source for each, what the certifications behind them actually mean, and how to get a copy of the paperwork if you need it for your own customers.

Certified, low-impact materials

We use certified, low-impact materials for our film, adhesive powder and ink. Our suppliers’ films and inks are OEKO-TEX® certified — the same materials behind every gang sheet, by-size transfer and sample pack we ship. We don’t swap in cheaper film or ink for bulk or wholesale orders; what you test on a sample is what you get on a full roll.

What OEKO-TEX® certification means

OEKO-TEX® is an independent textile-safety system. A certified material has been tested by an OEKO-TEX® institute for a long list of harmful substances and has to stay under strict limit values. In plain terms:

  • Harmful-substance limits — tested against limits for regulated and non-regulated substances (heavy metals, formaldehyde, certain dyes, phthalates and more).
  • Made for skin contact — the limits are written for materials that sit against skin all day, not just for packaging or industrial use.
  • Baby and kids’ apparel — the standard’s strictest product class covers items for babies and toddlers, which is why OEKO-TEX® is the label parents and babywear brands look for.

Certification belongs to the material and its manufacturer; our job is to only buy film and ink that carry it, press it within spec and stand behind the result.

Safe for kids’ and babies’ clothing

Our soft-hand film is PVC-free and OEKO-TEX®-tested, and it is safe for kids’ and babies’ apparel when applied per our pressing guide — 290–320°F, 8–15 seconds, medium–high pressure, hot peel. A fully cured transfer bonds into the fabric, stays soft and stretches with the garment. See the pressing instructions for fabric-by-fabric settings and the wash durability guide for how we test the 100+ wash rating and how to care for finished garments.

Certificate documents

Copies of our suppliers’ current certificates are available on request at info@beartransfers.com — we’re adding downloadable copies to this page. Tell us which product you’re ordering and we’ll send the matching documents.
